The Max-Scribe transcription system is an advanced digital technology that transforms your computer into a digital dictation and transcription machine. Fast and easy to use, Max-Scribe makes it possible to record, transcribe, manage and store your voice and word files securely without the need for clumsy tape technology.

With Max-Scribe you can record audio files directly onto your PC via a microphone connection or download recorded dictation from a handheld digital recorder. After transcribing, your original audio file can be archived on the computer eliminating the fuss of labelling and storing tapes.

Lawyers, doctors and educators will find Max-Scribe invaluable for the transcription of important audio recordings and dictation arising from court proceedings, meetings, lectures, interviews, medical examinations and more. Business, law enforcement, public safety, government and many other sectors will also find that Max-Scribe easily manages the most complex dictation and transcription tasks resulting in improved productivity and reduced costs.

Fast and easy recording and playback
With Max-Scribe's digital technology you can create, transfer, transcribe and easily manage your documents. For optimum results, Max-Scribe features two user-friendly programs for recording and playing audio files:

Record
The recording program installed on the computer records your voice directly from a microphone. Alternatively, recorded files can also be captured using a portable handheld recorder. Max-Scribe supports several file formats (such as MP3, WMA2 and WAV). If necessary additional file formats can be installed on the computer.

Maximum recording length is dependent on the computer's available hard drive space and the specific file format used. The average modern computer, however, is capable of storing a lot more information than a single audio cassette - and the user doesn't have to switch from Side A to Side B and fiddle with inserting a series of tapes. For convenient audio monitoring, the Max-Scribe system also has the capability to echo the recording back to the user.

Playback
Playback of audio files couldn't be simpler. The user can control PLAY/PAUSE/REWIND/FAST FORWARD functions through the mouse, keyboard shortcuts, or optional foot pedal. The rewind and fast forward speeds are easily adjusted on screen with the click of a mouse.

The Playback Program allows users to manage each audio recording file as a separate job. Every job file contains useful details such as last time played and current status. Max-Scribe also has a bookmark feature enabling the user to save a point in the job's playback so that it can be instantly returned to later.

Each computer user has a separate listing of jobs, allowing multiple personnel to use a single workstation without confusion. As each job has an individual file name, a convenient Max-Scribe feature enables a file search dialog to activate either a single recording or multiple recordings.
